Big M Update – Mon. 3/9/20

A group of us rode Big M this past Saturday morning and over all we are quite pleased with how the base is holding given the recent warm temperatures! Some areas are a bumpy and the Southern section of has a few bare patches where the trail gets a lot of sun. Luckily, the transitions from snow to dirt on these patches are not bad at all, there is little grey ice. The shaded spots on the North side (Road Monkey, aka The Outback) are in excellent shape!

The Beginner Loop is hard pack and in good shape!

The Firetower Loop was ride-able on Saturday morning however; this section has not been groomed, it has been ridden in and therefore is somewhat bumpy and soft in spots.

The weather forecast this week looks similar to last week. Temperatures will consistently pop above freezing during the day and duck below at night. Looks like a chance for some snow on Wednesday night. The Groomers will be keeping a close eye on the forecast and groom when they see an opportunity in anticipation of the race on March 14.
